Troubleshooting Outlook Express (IMAP, POP3, HTTP, NEWS) with the log file

Just happen to know this when trying to solve my friend OE problem.

You can log in POP3, IMAP, NEWS, HTTP commands of your Outlook Express into a log file. (note, the password in the log file is encrypted by Microsoft, therefore, it is safe to ask user to send the log file over if you are a IT support)



To enable logging.
-------------------------

Tools(menu) - Options (menu) - Maintenance(menu) - check on the protocol you need. (POP3, IMAP, NEWS or HTTP)


To view the log file
--------------------------

Goto path

C:\Documents and Settings\YourUserName\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{8D32DF8B-D3B8-4783-A0C5-FE37E2FC8659}\Microsoft\Outlook Express\pop3.log (for pop3)

imap.log for (imap)
and other respectively.

P.S. The {8D32DF8B-D3B8-4783-A0C5-FE37E2FC8659} may vary and there could be a few Identities in it. Look for the folder with the structure of *.dbx similar to your Outlook Express email account.

I heard about not bad application-outlook express troubleshooting, can safely open the file of dbx format and extract messages,troubleshoot Outlook Express with all versions of Microsoft Windows operating system, starting from Windows 98, troubleshoot also supports all versions of Outlook Express.

The matter is that this problem solves with help next software-outlook express errors,but fortunately as far as I know application is free and has many facilities,it can resolve data corruption issues for Outlook Express email client,works with one of the most vulnerable elements of information systems,helps and it does not matter, what happened with your mailbox,works with Outlook Express versions 5, 5.5, 6 and all currently supported versions of Microsoft Windows operating system,preview all messages, that can be successfully retrieved from corrupted files with dbx extension,recovery of all emails from your mailbox in dbx format, if these dbx files are seriously corrupted and Outlook Express there was an error opening this message,will save separate files of eml format, that can be accessed by any email program.

To my mind best program in sphere recover mails this is-download microsoft windows address book repairs.Because tool is quite rekliable,has free status as far as I know,and utility can successfully solve the problem of data corruption for files of wa~ and wab format and export the contacts and save the results of repair Windows Address Book file.
